Week 48 Focus!!

I've been trying to write you guys for 15 minutes, but the missionary next to me is watching bible videos and they are so good I keep losing my focus!

This week was awesome! I started by going on divisions Tuesday. I went to an area that was struggling a lot and we pretty much just contacted the entire day, but it was awesome. We got some good new investigators and were able to get a baptismal date with someone!

Wednesday we had a district meeting. We did a big study of Alma 43 and 46 and did a fat comparison with missionary life and remembering why we are here. It turned out awesome and we finished off by raising our own title of liberty!

Then I headed to another divisions with an Elder who is obsessed with health. We had to be in the house at 7 that night and used our extra time to get in an hour long p90x workout. Needless to say I practically died and have been sore ever since, but it was fun!

Saturday we had a church activity, but it ended late and its not that safe to walk home at night so we had to hire a transport to drop off the members. The only person we could get a hold of last minute was this deaf, mute who lives in front of the church. It was hilarious trying to give him directions to drop the people off (my 5th grade sign language is a little below par) haha

That's pretty much the sum of it. Another great week in the work of the Lord. I honestly can't describe the blessings we are receiving and the miracles in peoples lives we have seen. It is so awesome!

Week 47 El otro lado del cielo

So much stuff goes down in the week and then I get here and I have no idea what to write... lets see

We had semana de la familia (family week) this week which was exhausting but awesome. We had an activity in the church every day this week and like always the missionaries were put in charge of it at the last minute. We had some great turn outs, and one partial member family ended up coming one day and loved it so much that they came to church Sunday again!!!

One of my ZLs went home this week (Elder Carver). He was an awesome missionary who has been killer to work with this change, but he had an accident playing soccer about a month ago and things just kept getting worse and worse until he could barley walk. He was on discussions with me when the president called him and told him he would have to go home. It was so sad to see how heart broken he was. It really made me realize these 2 years aren't a guarantee. I never know what might happen and have to take advantage of every minute.

My area was super ugly when I got here, but is all of a sudden gorgeous after the rain. Everything just turned green and awesome and I love it!!

So today we got permission to head out to some islands that are in our area!! What!! It was the other side of heaven. We woke up early and caught a bus to the coast. Then we walked around this little sea village for like 20 minutes and found someone with a boat and hired him to take us out to an island. It was super awesome and exotic! We had fun and found this sweet beach side place to eat an early lunch at and then hitched a ride back to the mainland with a fisher boat that was heading in. It was so fun!

I'm doing good and am happy.  Hope you are all as well.
Love you and thanks for all your support.

Week 46

Hey I'm getting cut a little short today, but don't have much to say anyways.

It was super awesome talking to you guys Sunday!! Looks like you guys are doing good and are happy.

Our week was super amazing again. We had no time to do anything for a temple trip, leadership meetings, the phone call home and a million other things, but we knocked out everything we could in the little time we had and were greatly blessed for it.

Just loving life and hope you guys are all doing good!

Week 45 Super Great Week!

We are going pretty hardcore this week!

We are practically running all over the place doing everything we can and receiving HUGE blessings!!

Our mutual program is going great! Every young man and young woman attended this last week and we had tons of fun. We started doing a little personal progress and duty to God then took everyone in the kitchen and made homemade french fries! They were delicious and everyone loved it! Our goal is to get the Young Woman's President active this week and get a Young Men's President called to start passing over the assignment to them.

I went on divisions Friday to Jiquilisco . At about 7:00 that night a huge thunder storm moved in. We got into an investigators house right before the downpour began. We waited out there for about a half hour (we couldn't teach anything because the rain was so loud against the tin roof.) The entire city lost power but we had to get this guys english homework to him before the day ended so we used our cell phone light (in a plastic bag) to try and find the way home. It was pitch black, we were super wet, got lost multiple time, but finally found our way back into town. It was so fun.

That night I got talking to the elder I was with and realized how many challenges he was going through right now. A lot of pressure from home and 0 self confidence. As the conversation rolled on I wasn't sure what I could say to help him, but I said a little prayer in my heart to be guided by the spirit. I began to speak and felt like it wasn't me talking, but someone talking through me. It was such a surreal experience that I'll never forget. I think the the Lord was really able to help out that elder that night. I am so grateful he allowed me to be the instrument in his hands to do it.

I've had a million more spiritual experiences like that one this week that I can't begin to describe.. The mission really is the best!

I hope you are all doing good. Love you guys!
